imprint.audio is a small, deliberate toolkit for musicians. My goal in building it is to solve a number of problems I regularly deal with managing my own music. Every tool in is designed to save time, reduce reliance on big tech companies, and help you spend more time creating music than managing your online presence. Imprint has no ads, no hidden tracking, and no growth metrics; just simple tools based on my years of experience as a musician and producer.
About me
My name is Jacob, and I currently release electronic music under the name Bad Opera. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, DJ, producer, and true believer in underground music. I am also a software engineer by trade, and have dreamt for a long time about building the tools contained in imprint.audio to streamline my projects.
Ethos
I've long yearned for the days of a simpler internet — useful content and applications from real people prior to the days of hyper-optimization, super targeting, and building for growth metrics. I can't reshape the internet, but I can build tools that I feel good about. Imprint.audio is built with that mentality. It will never contain ads, hidden tracking, or tools deliberately designed to keep you on the platform. By extension, it grants that same respect to your fans and listeners who will interact with your public pages, demo links, and other future features.
Your work is your own and your audience is your own; if you use Imprint to manage your mailing list, export it at any time. If you want to share a demo link and get feedback from your community, your listeners don't need an account.
